"Lost that needle in a haystack"

Inspection Process

Process

Accu-ray Inspection Services provides solutions to all types of “Quality Hold” situations. Each project is handled with you (the customer) in mind. We can easily adapt our process to meet your specific needs.  Our business is focused on serving the Food Industry. We use X-ray technology for the inspection of contaminants or other missing or mis- packaged products. We can even inspect bulk powders and granular with our metal detector/magnet systems. 95% of our customers are food related manufactures.

Product Storage and Shipping

Our facilities are Food Grade. Sanitation and documentation is on going. Pallets of product come to us on semi trucks. Our 7200 sqft. Facility has multiple docks for handling multiple loads. Forklifts are used to load and unload the pallets. Product will be shipped in the same configuration as they came to us. Each Shipment is arranged and coordinated by our expert shipping department. We are proud to offer the timeliest and care free inspection of your products.

Pallet Loading & Process Labels

Product is tracked from the time it is received until the time it is dispatched. In bound pallet labeling is often maintained and documented. Different Batch codes or Product codes are separated and labeled for easy identification. They are inspected separately. Pallets will be broken down to individual components and inspected by the appropriate equipment and process. (See figure1 for typical line lay out). Components that “Pass” the inspection process will be reassembled and returned to the pallet. Components that “Fail” the inspection process will be identified as such. Extreme care will be taken during the process to maintain the integrity of the individual components and packages.  Completed pallets will be stretch wrapped and labeled. Rejects will be separated, labeled and identified.  Pallets will be stored and prepared for return shipping.

Records

Reject Test Sample (See sample): In an effort to validate the inspection process a “Reject Test Sample” is introduced at approximately 15 min. intervals.  Records of completed tests are maintained and signed by line leaders. Each test is identified and documented as “Passed or Failed”. If a failure occurs, it is documented and product from the previous “Passed” test is re-inspected.  Corrective actions are taken.

Product Tracking (See sample): Products are tracked by pallet codes (license plates numbers) or other batch, time indicators. Rejects are documented and deficiencies are identified. Each category of defect is documented so as to provide easy identification of deficiencies per product code.
